ONLYOFFICE community around the globe: 2024 results

As we approach the end of the year, let’s take a moment to review and consider the significant achievements of ONLYOFFICE related to the community. This post will delve into key outcomes regarding our team and office locations, customers and partners, events and taken initiatives, etc.

ONLYOFFICE goes east

This year, we opened a new office branch – registered an official department in Shanghai. This way, our Chinese users and partners can interact with us in a more straightforward and comfortable way.

Team and community

ONLYOFFICE team has expanded significantly, with 27 new employees and 17 new interns joining in 2024 from various countries around the globe: China, India, Kenya, Vietnam, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Algeria, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Albania, Lebanon.

What’s more, our team and community expanded in the following ways:

• 25 new contributing translators
• 26 new contributors on Upwork
• 34 new contributors on HackerOne

The size of our customer base also continues to expand. In 2024, the growth was about 33%.

This year, ONLYOFFICE got Gold in IT Awards 2024, in the category Cloud Content Management. We say our sincerest thanks to everyone involved!

Furthermore, we got the CITE 2024 Innovation Award during the 12th China Information Technology Expo, in the category Innovative applications of information technology.

In order to exchange ideas, share experiences, and receive valuable feedback, we attended more than 60 events and visited more than 20 countries worldwide, and established numerous new connections!

Programs and initiatives

• Meet ONLYOFFICE Academy, the new-brand training center based on Moodle created by our Customer Care Team.
• We launched PR and dev internship for students. Read about Fiona Zhang’s internship experience.
• For the third year in a row, we take part in the 4L Trophy humanitarian adventure. This time, we support CAP2R and Nisse Club teams and their charity mission to help children in Morocco.

• We also participated in the Open Source Promotion Plan (OSPP) organized by the Institute of Software at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Check the program results
• Along with OSPP, we held a plugin development contest for Chinese tech enthusiasts.

Localization

We continuously work on enhancing the localization of ONLYOFFICE to ensure it is accessible to users worldwide.

Among this year’s enhancements are:

• RTL support;
• Serbian and Arabic translation for the editors;
• support for multiple new languages in the spreadsheet editor, including Bengali and Sinhala;
• regional settings in Indonesian;
• doc, sheet, slide and PDF templates in various languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic);
• new languages available in our official blog: Greek, Hindi, Arabic, Serbian, Armenian.
