Your AI, your rules: welcome the pre-Christmas release in ONLYOFFICE

What’s new: a brief list

• Ability to connect any AI assistant, including local ones
• Ability to select different AI models for different tasks
• Revised interface with a separate AI tab

Not only ChatGPT: connect any AI assistant

From now on, using AI assistants in ONLYOFFICE Docs is not limited to the ChatGPT plugin. We have re-thought this aspect and added an ability to connect any AI assistant for more flexibility.

You are able to select a provider from the list or connect any AI model, including a local one. Among the pre-installed providers you will find:

• Open AI;
• Together AI;
• Mistral;
• GPT4All (for desktop only).

Please note: for security reasons, no AI is connected to the editors by default. You choose yourself which provider/model to connect and use your own keys.

Different AI models – for different tasks

Tailor AI to your personal needs. It’s now possible to apply different AI models to perform various actions such as chatbot requests, translation, summarization, etc.

Revised interface: meet the new AI tab

Using AI features is now more comfortable and intuitive. All the options are grouped in the newly added AI tab* in each editor so that you can easily access the needed features and settings.

*You need to enable it. Read below how to do so.

How to get started

• Just launch any web or desktop editor depending on what ONLYOFFICE solution you are using.
• Go to the Plugins tab and click the Plugin Manager icon. Click Install next to the AI plugin.

• Open Background plugins and enable the switcher for AI.

• Access the appeared AI tab. Click Settings to open the configuration window. Click Edit AI models -> Add. Select any AI provider from the list or add new AI models, and enter your keys. Don’t forget to save the settings.

• Open Settings once again from the AI tab. Select the required AI models for different tasks. If you have connected several AI assistants, you can choose them from the drop-down list for each action.
• Start working by using the corresponding options from the AI tab or via the context menu.

Please note: if you already have the ChatGPT plugin installed, we recommend you re-install/update it via the Plugin Manager to get the new AI plugin.
