ONLYOFFICE connector for Confluence v6.1: how to work on PDF forms
The official ONLYOFFICE connector for Confluence is released in version 6.1, introducing new capabilities for creating and editing PDF forms directly within Confluence. Read on to learn more about how to get started with PDF forms in Confluence.
Create PDF forms
With the updated version of the connector, you can create fillable forms in PDF format by default. You do not need to choose the format in which you want to save them.
To start, click New document and choose a PDF form.
You can also create a PDF form based on an existing DOCX file by adding fillable fields. To do this, select Upload DOCX file and click Create form using ONLYOFFICE. The file will be automatically converted to PDF format.
Edit PDF forms
Once the file is created, you can switch to the Forms tab to add interactive fields. Move the cursor where you want to place the field and click on the required field type: text boxes, checkboxes, dropdown lists, radio buttons, phone number, signature fields, etc.
To simplify the process of filling out forms, customize field settings in the right-side toolbar to meet your specific needs, allowing you to set role, field size, format, allowed symbols, character limit, font, and required fields.

Once you have added and customized all the fields, use the View Form option to see what your form will look like and how it will be seen by the user who will be filling it out. You can also select a specific role to see how the form will look to the user with that role.
Collaborate on PDF forms
The ONLYOFFICE connector for Confluence makes it easy to collaborate on PDF forms with real-time editing options through the Collaboration tab. Team members can work together in two modes: Fast Mode for instant changes and Strict Mode to lock specific paragraphs. Additionally, users can leave comments, make revisions, and chat in real-time directly within the document.
Fill out PDF forms
ONLYOFFICE allows users to fill out interactive PDF forms directly in Confluence. Open the PDF file and switch to the Viewing form mode in the upper right corner of the editor.
Fill in the fields – use the Next Field and Previous Field buttons to automatically move from one field to the next so you don’t miss anything.
After completing a form, it can be saved and accessed within Confluence for easy sharing.
Other improvements
Along with form creation, other updates in version 6.1 are included:
- Compatibility with Confluence 9
- Forcesave is no longer supported
- History highlighting is no longer supported
