Self-hosted ONLYOFFICE DocSpace: secure collaboration on your terms

About ONLYOFFICE DocSpace
ONLYOFFICE DocSpace is a collaborative cloud platform that allows users to edit and collaborate on documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and forms in customizable rooms.
Built-in ONLYOFFICE Docs suite offers professional editing tools together with real-time document editing, chat features, audio/video calls via Jitsi and Zoom, and and all essential collaboration features. The platform supports various file formats, including Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, PDFs, and multimedia.
Collaboration is organized inside rooms, where various levels of access rights can be granted to users to streamline the collaboration process, with roles including room managers, power users, editors, viewers, commenters, reviewers, and form fillers. Easy sharing and inviting is provided for comfortable work within and outside the team.
Security features include encryption, activity tracking, IP restrictions, SSO and more. Users can customize the look and feel of DocSpace, apply their own branding and customization, and do much more in settings.
DocSpace cloud VS on-premises
When you are choosing between using the software in the cloud as a service and hosting it on your own infrastructure, there are a few important keypoints to consider. Here are the key differences between self-hosted and cloud ONLYOFFICE DocSpace:
Full control over your data. Self-hosted software is potentially more secure, since the developers and the cloud providers by do not have access to your space by design. You do not need to entrust your data to any third-party and, instead, rely fully on your own infrastructure security and maintenance, or choose a location for hosting according to your right judgment. At the same time, security of hosting becomes your own responsibility.
Lifetime license. When you purchase a license of the business solution, you make a single payment and get the software to use without any end dates. License renewal is only needed if you wish to continue receiving updates and professional support after one year.
Pricing based on simultaneous connections. For the self-hosted version, the business tariffs are based on simultaneously opened document tabs within your network. For example, if the tariff allows for up to 100 connections, the 101st document will be opened for view only.
SMTP settings. The settings at your disposal in on-premises ONLYOFFICE DocSpace are almost the same as in the SaaS solution, but here you can also control the SMTP settings for connecting the mail service manually.
Branding and customization available for all editions. Unlike the cloud version where you can add branding and fully use customization only in the business tariffs, all self-hosted versions offer these options, including the Community version.

Three different tariffs are available for self-hosted ONLYOFFICE DocSpace at the moment: Family Pack for home, Enterprise Edition for business of any scale, and free Community Edition for experienced users that are ready to install, configure, and maintain the solution on their own.
Enterprise Edition
This tariff is suited for all business needs. Offers scalability and professional support, and is based on number of simultaneous connections.

How to install ONLYOFFICE DocSpace
At the moment, you can install ONLYOFFICE DocSpace on a Linux server only, using DEB or RPM package depending on your system, or using Docker. Soon, we will release the version for Windows server and make ONLYOFFICE DocSpace available for installation from the popular cloud marketplaces.
To start using ONLYOFFICE DocSpace:
- Obtain a preferred package from our website.
- Install and configure the solution according to the instructions in the Help Center.
- Activate your license, if needed.
- Log in and start working!
