AgiLab integrates ONLYOFFICE to provide researchers with a secure and collaborative document management

AgiLab, our technology partner, has integrated ONLYOFFICE editors into its platform to help the customers focus more on their core business: research and development, quality control, and sample analysis. Renaud Acker, CEO of AgiLab, shares how the team chose an office suite for the platform and why they opted for ONLYOFFICE.

About AgiLab

Founded in 2010, AgiLab is a developer of IT solutions designed primarily for pharmaceutical laboratories. It aims to provide them with a complete solution for managing their data and workflow with total security.

Today, the AgiLab solution covers virtually all laboratory activities, from research and development to quality control and other activities related to chemistry, biology, analysis, and formulation. By combining all these features, AgiLab has become not an application, but an AgiLab platform.

AgiLab’s current customers come from a variety of industries united by their need for better data management, allowing them to focus more on their core business: research and development, quality control, and sample analysis. In addition to the life sciences sector, the platform applies to the environmental, food, cosmetics, and chemical industries.

Integration with ONLYOFFICE

Editing documents is one of the essential functions in any field. AgiLab developers also wanted to integrate an HTML editor into the platform. First of all, the editors had to make it possible to enter documents and data into spreadsheets (even in unstructured form) directly from the platform, without going to another tab of the web browser.

AgiLab had two options, Microsoft Office and ONLYOFFICE, which they discovered via an extensive Internet search. After trying out integration with MS Office, AgiLab decided to opt for ONLYOFFICE, as it proved to be compatible with MS formats and easily integrated with their solutions.

The integration of the ONLYOFFICE editors directly into the AgiLab platform enables, for example:

• Export/import of Office documents (Excel and Word) for laboratory researchers;
• Perform complex calculations for product formulation;
• Visualize analysis and results reports.

What’s more, integrated ONLYOFFICE greatly accelerates collaboration between different entities, particularly through document sharing. The application environment remains homogeneous and controlled.
