ONLYOFFICE connector 4.0.1 for ownCloud allows co-editing in federated cloud and more
Hello everyone!
The new ONLYOFFICE connector for ownCloud has been released. Jump in to see what’s new.
The new version features:
- Real-time document collaboration between federated clouds;
- Translation into Polish;
- British (EN-GB) file templates;
- API v2 support for advanced sharing permissions.
If your enterprise sharing environment is built with several federated ownCloud instances, now you can easily collaborate on documents in real time between them. This feature was specifically demanded by research centers among our customers, and, we believe, will find its use in other same-structured organizations and associations.
To share a file for co-editing with a remote user from another ownCloud instance, simply use their Federated Cloud ID in the name field. It is composed of the username and either the name of the instance or the user IP.
Next step, they need to accept the shared file, which will create its avatar in the root folder of their shared files directory.
Importantly, all ownCloud instances involved in federated co-editing must address the same ONLYOFFICE Document Server for the correct work of the feature.
