Partnership with Nextcloud suspended — No impact to current partners or clients

At ONLYOFFICE, we believe that real value is created not by products alone, but by partnerships.
Over the years, we have built a strong global ecosystem: hundreds of partners, millions of users, and countless real-world deployments across businesses, governments, and institutions.
We work closely with our partners. We listen. We adapt. We invest.
We support our partners, helping them grow, succeed, and build sustainable solutions on top of our technology. And this approach works. It creates trust. It creates stability. And it creates long-term success — together.
What happened
Since 2018, we have been building a relationship with Nextcloud, approaching it with the same principles: openness, transparency, and mutual support.
Over time, however, several signals began to raise concerns.
We observed repeated attempts to move beyond the agreed boundaries of cooperation, including efforts to build independent commercial offerings around our technology without proper alignment, as well as coordinated outreach targeting our employees and customers, comprising attempts to recruit our team members and influence customers’ perceptions of ONLYOFFICE in ways that raised serious concerns about fair and responsible partnership conduct.
We also received feedback from partners and customers who were surprised by certain communication approaches that, in their view, did not correspond to transparent and professional collaboration.
Despite this, we continued to engage, support, and invest in the relationship – with the intention of addressing concerns and maintaining a constructive path forward.
The recent announcement of the “Euro-Office” initiative marked a turning point.
This project is not a new development, but a direct reuse of ONLYOFFICE technology, repackaged and presented under a different identity. Notably, the official press release published by Nextcloud to announce the initiative does not contain a single mention of ONLYOFFICE, despite the fact that the entire project is built on our technology. We consider this a deliberate omission, and one that speaks directly to the nature of the conduct we are describing.
It was launched without any prior discussion or notification, and raises serious concerns regarding both licensing compliance and the way our technology is being used and represented.
More broadly, it reflects an approach where a partner’s work is treated as something that can be leveraged for independent gain without proper alignment, contribution, or acknowledgment.
This is not how we define partnerships.
Our decision
Partnership is built on trust. And trust requires shared principles. Where those principles are no longer upheld, continuing cooperation is no longer sustainable.
For this reason, we have made the decision to suspend our partnership cooperation with Nextcloud.

Partnership has always been personal to me. We work closely with our partners, we listen, support, and grow together. This is not just business for us, but a shared journey. That’s why trust matters so much. And that’s also why situations like this are particularly disappointing — when those principles are not equally shared.
I’m truly grateful to the many partners who continue to move forward with us: openly, honestly, and with mutual respect.
– Galina Goduhina, Commercial Director at ONLYOFFICE
What this means for our partners and customers
This action is limited to that specific partnership and does not impact our current partners, clients, or ongoing services. All existing collaborations and client commitments continue as normal.
This situation does not change who we are, how we work, or how we build partnerships.
ONLYOFFICE continues to grow together with its partners: openly, fairly, and with a strong focus on long-term collaboration. We remain fully committed to supporting our partners, investing in joint growth, and delivering stable, mature, and continuously evolving products.
Importantly, we will continue to support and develop the ONLYOFFICE connector for Nextcloud. We know that many of our partners and customers rely on this integration, and we will ensure its stability and further development.
Looking ahead
Strong ecosystems are not built on shortcuts.
They are built on contribution, responsibility, and trust.
And we will continue to work with partners sharing these principles.
