ONLYOFFICE at 4L Trophy 2025: Welcome CAP2R and Nisse Club teams
For the third year in a row, ONLYOFFICE continues the tradition of supporting 4L Trophy teams. The 4L Trophy is a unique rally adventure that combines a passion for cars, challenges, and humanitarian aid. This year, ONLYOFFICE sponsors two teams, helping them embark on a life-changing journey in the iconic Renault 4.
What the 4L Trophy is
The 4L Trophy is an annual humanitarian rally designed for students aged 18 to 28, making it one of Europe’s largest student events. First held in 1997, this unique adventure combines the thrill of rally racing with a mission of solidarity and support for those in need. The 28th edition of the rally will take place from February 19 to March 2, 2025.
Participants embark on an exciting journey of nearly 6,000 kilometers, traveling through France, Spain, and Morocco. The rally challenges participants to navigate without GPS or electronic devices, relying solely on traditional maps and a compass to find their way through diverse terrains and landscapes.
Why It Matters
Participating in the 4L Trophy goes beyond an exciting journey across continents—it’s about solidarity and contributing to the future. Supported by Enfants du Désert, Croix-Rouge française, and Cap Eco Solidaire, the rally ensures that essential aid reaches those in need.
Each team carries humanitarian supplies, including school materials, sports equipment, and food, to remote communities in Morocco. This mission improves access to education and provides vital resources for local children, making a meaningful impact on their lives.
Another important initiative led by La Brigade Verte is to promote environmental awareness among participants. The goal is to minimize the rally’s impact on the environment by encouraging eco-friendly practices such as reducing CO2 emissions, conserving water, and recycling plastic waste at bivouacs.
Two teams for important missions
This year, ONLYOFFICE is excited to support two remarkable teams taking on the 4L Trophy. Both crews are eager to make a difference by navigating the challenging terrain, overcoming obstacles, and contributing to a noble cause. We also asked them some questions to learn more about their participation.
Team CAP2R
Team CAP2R consists of Simon Pradel, a 24-year-old mechanic, and Ludovic Marcolin, a 27-year-old handyman passionate about cartography and navigation. Together, they are excited to take on the challenges of the 4L Trophy.
To participate in this rally, Simon and Ludovic purchased an old Renault 4 that had been out of service for over 10 years. Instead of choosing an easier solution, they decided to fully restore the vehicle. Simon’s mechanical expertise is essential in getting the engine running. At the same time, Ludovic’s hands-on skills help them tackle the various challenges during the restoration process.
Q: How did you first hear about the 4L Trophy?
Ludovic: I learned about the 4L Trophy through my family, as a family member participated in it.
Simon: I discovered the rally through the media.
Q: Why did you decide to participate in the 4L Trophy?
We wanted to participate in the 4L Trophy because it’s a wonderful adventure among friends that allows for amazing encounters. It’s also a personal challenge to restore a 4L from A to Z, and the humanitarian aspect adds even more meaning to our project.
Team Nisse Club
Team Nisse Club consists of Romain Vernay, 22, a fifth-year engineering finance student, who brings strong leadership and a passion for adventure from his experience as a former scout unit leader, and Briac Vanney, also 22, a student pursuing an engineering degree in Lyon.
Briac specializes in digital creation, including web design and video production, which will help document their journey. Together, they aim to navigate the rally’s challenges while making a positive impact and creating lasting memories.
Q: How did you first hear about the 4L Trophy?
Briac: I first heard about this rally a few years ago thanks to a video from a YouTuber. This human adventure seemed incredible to me. Since that day it has not left my mind.
Romain: For my part, I learned about the 4L Trophy thanks to my cousin who had already experienced this exceptional adventure. I was fascinated by his stories of desert adventures and he strongly recommended me to give it a try. Since then, I have dreamed of participating in this event for many years.
Q: Why did you decide to participate in the 4L Trophy?
We both share a sense of challenge and when we realized we were in the right state of mind to take part in this crazy adventure, we vowed to do it.
We were both involved in scouting, which is a community activity focused on helping others. We had already organized fundraising events and participated in charity hikes, which gave the adventure real meaning to us.
This life experience has also taught us to respect nature and to strive to explore more and more of it. Our French forests and countryside are beautiful, but it’s time to discover the flora and fauna of the Sahara!
