We have released version 11.0 of our collaboration platform now called ONLYOFFICE Groups with lots of security and productivity enhancements. And it’s under the Apache license!

ONLYOFFICE Groups include a collaboration platform for managing docs, projects, emails, and client relations and Control Panel for easy platform administration and configuration.

You can use ONLYOFFICE Groups as a standalone solution or together with ONLYOFFICE editors in ONLYOFFICE Workspace bundle.

Apache 2.0: distribute ONLYOFFICE Groups freely

ONLYOFFICE Groups are distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. Apache license allows using the software for any purposes, as well as distributing it without limitations under your brand.

It can be easily deployed in a few steps and integrated into any product ecosystem. This makes ONLYOFFICE Groups an ideal solution for web hosting and managed service providers who would like to bring their customers the most complete in-browser collaboration platform.

Control Panel: quickly configure ONLYOFFICE

Control Panel includes tools to quickly configure and administrate ONLYOFFICE Groups deployed on your server. Use it to:

• automate backups and update process,
• centralize access with SSO and LDAP,
• track user actions,
• enable full-text search in document and mail content with Elasticsearch,
• customize portals to provide them to your clients under your own brand – change color themes, replace logos, titles, and links,
• create as many web-offices as you need (for your customers) with multitenancy.

Encryption at rest: protect the storage

You can protect data at rest against breaches and ensure HIPAA compliance of the team’s services. If the storage encryption option is enabled, all the files stored in ONLYOFFICE will be encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard, symmetric block cipher, also known as Rijndael, that encrypt data blocks of 128 bits using symmetric keys of 256 bits.

Favorites and Recent folder: quickly access what’s most important

Navigation around the doc management system became significantly easier. You can mark files as favorites and quickly find them in the Favorites folder.

Your recently edited docs can be instantly accessed in the Recent folder.

Connecting kDrive via WebDAV: centralize your documents

You can connect kDrive, Swiss cloud storage, to the ONLYOFFICE document management system. This means that you will be able to access, edit, and share docs stored on kDrive from the ONLYOFFICE interface.

Telegram notifications: keep yourself posted

You can easily choose the most comfortable way of getting notifications from ONLYOFFICE, for example, about being shared a document. In version 11.0 you can configure getting notifications via Telegram, one of the most popular messaging apps in the world.

Security fixes

In this version of ONLYOFFICE Groups, we fixed several vulnerabilities and increased the authorization security. Also, for safety reasons, we disabled the option to use third-party clients for Talk, our instant messenger.

Also, the authorization security was significantly enhanced in ONLYOFFICE v11.0.
