ONLYOFFICE Docs plugin v2.0 for WordPress: multisite support, PDF forms, anonymous access, and more

We updated the ONLYOFFICE Docs plugin for WordPress to version 2.0.0. It supports the multisite feature, PDF form filling and annotating, brings file embedding as a link and access for anonymous users on public posts. Read on to explore all the improvements.

Multisite support

WordPress Multisite enables you to create several instances of WordPress managed within one installation.

From now on, the ONLYOFFICE Docs plugin supports this feature as well. Thus, Super Admin can configure the plugin for all sites at once, or allow site administrators changing the connector settings for their sites.

As a site administrator, you can inherit the network settings for the ONLYOFFICE Docs plugin or configure it yourself in case Super Admin checked the corresponding option.

Working with PDF

Open PDF files uploaded to your WordPress via admin dashboard for form filling and annotating:

• fill out interactive fields;
• highlight, underline and strikethrough text;
• leave comments;
• draw different objects and lines with the built-in drawing tools.

File embedding as a link & updated block settings

Along with inserting files to the published pages via the editor frame, embed documents as a link.

Where to find: ONLYOFFICE Docs block settings -> Document view -> Link

You can decide whether to show the Open in ONLYOFFICE button next to the file link or not.

Moreover, you can easily align the embedded file on the page as you need and adjust its width and height (the latter option is applicable when inserting the editor frame).

Access for anonymous users

The option to embed a document as a link also allows unauthorized users to open the file attached to a public post for viewing by clicking the file link or button.

Other fixes and improvements

• Copy URL button in the Files section to easily get the editor link;
• displaying the onlyoffice-wordpress-block component in the Gutenberg editor;
• stub for the onlyoffice-wordpress-block that shows error information in case ONLYOFFICE Docs is not accessible or the file is not found.
