ONLYOFFICE Docs 7.4 released: drawing, radar charts, combining documents, upgraded ChatGPT plugin, and more
The latest version of our online editors is already available with drawing in the editors, radar charts, ability to combine documents, save objects as well as entire docs and sheets as images, enhanced protection for editing ranges, and other useful features. Read on to discover all the updates.
Drawing in the editors
Let yourself be creative and make your own freehand drawings on slides using a pen or highlighter. You can choose the desired color and line thickness.
Where to find: new Draw tab (also available for text docs and sheets)
Moreover, for color palettes used in the editors, we added color name tips and eyedropper which automatically recognizes the needed color.
Radar charts
Insert radar charts in your sheets, docs or slides to illustrate multivariate data through graphs.
Where to find: Insert tab -> Chart -> Radar (Radar / Radar with markers / Filled radar)
Combining documents
If you often work with document review, for example, with agreements or contracts, and deal with multiple versions of the same file with lots of suggestions and revisions, this new feature will be useful for you.
From now on, you can combine documents. Basically, it means you merge two versions of a document into one.
Combining documents is similar to doc comparison, however, there is one significant difference. When comparing files, all the unsolved tracked changes after anyone’s review will be considered as accepted in the merged doc.
When combining documents, files are merged as they are, and the unsolved tracked changes will remain in the merged doc. So, you will be able to still accept or reject them if needed.

Saving objects as pictures
Quickly save objects such as shapes, charts, Text Art, text boxes, Smart Art created in your documents, spreadsheets, or presentations as PNG images with a transparent background and use them further in your work.
Where to find: object context menu -> Save as picture
Besides, for graphic objects, we added the border opacity settings and ability to copy the formatting of the existing visuals when creating new ones.

Save your text documents and spreadsheets as PNG and JPG pictures for further distribution.
Where to find: File tab -> Download as
As for the file formats support, we also introduced new ones available for viewing and further editing via conversion to OOXML: MHTML, SXC, ET, ETT, SXI, DPS, DPT, XML, SXW, STW, WPS, and WPT.
What’s new in spreadsheets
Enhanced protection. When activating protected ranges, grant editing rights only to the appropriate users. Other people with access to the workbook are still able to view the content, but editing the selected ranges is prohibited for them.
Where to find: Protection tab -> Protect Range
New formulas. Make your calculations even more effective using the newly added formulas: SEQUENCE, XMATCH, EXPAND, FILTER, ARRAYTOTEXT, and SORT.
Improved Pivot tables. Version 7.4 comes with the Show values as setting to quickly present values in different ways, and context menu options for working with Pivot tables.
Besides, in spreadsheets we added:
- Page Break Preview;
- ability to set the range of pages and the first page number for printing;
- short/long date in the number format presets;
- change case setting.
Upgraded plugins
Thanks to the extended API, plugins can now have as many windows as you want (for example, you can execute a custom script in a separate window) and be dynamically embedded in the context menu of the editors. It gives you more freedom and enhances the number of possible usage scenarios for plugins.
One of the brightest examples here is our updated ChatGPT plugin. From now on, it provides more useful features such as word analysis, image generation, text summarization and keyword generation, translation, etc. Check below how it can work using the new functionality:
Among updated plugins you will also find Doc2md which now provides the preview option.
What else, we added a server utility which allows admins (when a manual installation is required) to install or uninstall plugins with a single command line, instead of copying folders.
More novelties in the document editor
ONLYOFFICE document editor brings some further useful features. Here, you get the advanced column settings and enhanced work with lists, including:
- advanced settings for numbered and multilevel lists;
- recently used and lists in the current document in the presets;
- ability to create a new list via the settings dialog.
Furthermore, we added a list of exceptions for AutoCorrect of capital letters, which is also available for the presentation editor.
New localization options
We are constantly improving localization of ONLYOFFICE Docs to make our suite accessible to all users, all over the world.
In version 7.4, you will find:
- Sinhala translation for the editors;
- regional settings in Danish;
- translation of formula tips into Armenian;
- Help section in Turkish.

Optimized form creator
This release comes with lots of improvements for ONLYOFFICE forms, all to make the form creation process even more comfortable:
- ability to add a new form without leaving the current one;
- Default value setting (it’s no longer possible to fill out forms in the editing mode);
- improved track rendering for fixed forms;
- better functioning of smaller forms inside complex ones.
Usability improvements
For more comfortable user experience, we added further interface scaling options of 250%, 300%, 350%, 400%, 450%, and 500%.
Also, we made some updates for interface elements adding number of results in the search box, and column headings for lists displaying.
