How to comfortably filter data in ONLYOFFICE worksheets with Sheets Views
Imagine that you collaborate online with your teammates on a worksheet, and suddenly the table shrinks because someone adds filters. It’s unpleasant, isn’t it? ONLYOFFICE Docs v6.1 brings you the solution — Sheet Views for comfortable data filtering in worksheet tables. Keep reading to find out more.
About Sheet Views
With the Sheet View feature available in ONLYOFFICE Docs starting from version 6.1, you can create a customized filter that only changes your view of the data you are working with, without affecting other collaborators. That means that you can filter data in a worksheet table without worrying that the others will be affected by your actions. This feature is really helpful when you co-edit big spreadsheets together with your teammates.
Sheet views allow you to save the current status of your table at any time and quickly switch between filtered data in the future depending on your tasks.
To access the Sheet View feature, click View on the top toolbar of the spreadsheet editor. Please note that Sheet Views are available in paid versions only.
How to create a sheet view
To create a new Sheet View, go to the View tab and click the eye icon labelled ‘New’. You will enter the Sheet View mode, and all your filtering actions will be visible only to you and those users who utilize the same view. When the Sheet View mode is applied, there is an eye symbol next to the worksheet name.
If you want to leave the Sheet View mode, click the eye icon labelled ‘Close’ on the View tab. Form this point on, if you apply filters and sort data in the spreadsheet, your actions will affect other collaborators.
How to manage sheet views
To quickly access all your sheet views, click Sheet View on the View tab, and you will see all the available options. You can select the required view from the list or click View manager for more useful features.
The Sheet View Manager allows you to easily work with your sheet views. You can create several sheet views, name and save them for further use as well as delete the ones you don’t need any more. The views you create will be available to all the users who have full access to your spreadsheet. It’s also possible to create different sheet views for your collaborators so that they can quickly access the most relevant information.
